Description

Grown on volcanic soils at 500m altitude, this aglianico has great freshness and minerality to balance the bramble fruit and wood spice absorbed during 18 months in large casks.

Medium bodied, straightforward red wine, not too opaque, neither too light in colour, subdued nose. Tannins are noticeable but overwhelmed by acidity with not too much of a body and short finish. You really need a tomato based sauce to counter its acidity. Had many more interesting Aglianico based wines.
